The Armjet is a revolutionary new underwater propulsion device for swimmers, snorkelers, and scuba divers. At an incredible 9 pounds (4 kilograms) but approximately neutrally buoyant in seawater, the Armjet is extremely light and portable, but with a brushless motor providing 25 lbs (11 kg) of thrust We have measured it moving a 5’10”, 215 lb skin diver at 200 ft/min (2.3 mph). With a 15 Volt, 16 Ah lithium polymer battery pack, its performance is similar to scooters many times its size and weight—it has over 75% of the battery capacity of an Oceanic Mako scooter, despite weighing less than 20% as much. The addition of a dome port in the front allows the unit to function as a light or camera housing in addition to a powerful scooter. The Armjet is based on technology from MST’s J-DPS diver propulsion system, giving it a field proven heritage. The Armjet is an entirely new class of underwater propulsion devices. Designed for the serious recreational and professional diver, it is price competitive with larger scooters, but is extremely portable so it can be brought on diving trips without weighing you down. Unique features include: • Extremely light and portable |
|
The Armjet is turned on with a rocker switch on the side. This master power switch also activates the light, if present. Once armed, a joystick controller in the grip allows the diver to control the fully variable thrust. Recommend body position has the Armjet held out in front of the head, making sure the water jet doesn’t hit the diver’s body. The Armjet can be used as a water jet for digging and sediment removal, although this can significantly decrease the life of the glass-filled Delrin propeller. * Prices are for US domestic market. International prices are 10% higher. |
